How our market works:

Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market Pickup is a local farmer’s market where you place your order online anytime Saturday - Tuesday and then simply grab your orders Thursday anytime between 4-5:30pm at our pickup location at Bachman Community Center on Signal Mountain.

PLACING ORDERS

Each Saturday morning an email is sent to our customers letting them know the website is open for the week. Customers place their orders between 8:00am on Saturday through Tuesday by midnight. Click on the SHOP MARKET button to take you to our Farmer’s Market Shop and you’ll be able to order and pay online.

Growers receive their orders Wednesday mornings and harvest and prepare your order the next two days.

PICKING UP ORDERS

Please park behind Bachman and come inside to pick up your packed up order. Please bring gently used brown grocery bags, insulated bags and mason jars to donate when you can!

Delivery: We deliver ONLY on Signal Mountain and as needed! If you would like us to deliver your order please note it will be delivered after pick up finished- therefore sometime after 6:15pm on Thursday. Please text Sarah Campbell at 931-636-4745 if you wish us to deliver. We do expect someone to be home when we deliver or for you to give us special permission to leave it.

Forgotten Orders!

Neither Bachman NOR Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market Pickup is responsible in any way for orders not picked up during our Pickup window. In an emergency situation, or if you’ve forgot to pick up your order, we can leave it for you in the kitchen. There is limited space available in the refrigerators so we might have to leave it out on the counters. If you have forgotten your items please pick up as soon as possible by 7:15 that evening. There’s a workout class so the back door with the ramp will be unlocked and you can go into the kitchen from that door. You can also pickup Friday morning but it is a shared space so we encourage you to grab your things as quickly as possible for respect of the other folks using the fridge at Bachman and also things could get moved around or potentially thrown out at some point.

About:

Wheeler Orchard and Vineyards, Sequatchie Cove Farm, Cove Creek Farm, Terra Flower Farm, Hidden Haven Farms (Herd Share), Orchard House Creamery (Herd Share), Hoe Hop Farm, Red Clay Farm, Land to Farm, Agraria Urban Farm, Gigi’s Sweet Stop, Lita’s All Natural, Midway Mushrooms, Summerfield Farm and adding more each week for a while.

We’re a group of small farms and gardeners located around Signal Mountain, TN. Each grower farms his/her land using strict standards to ensure that everything produced is chemical-free and sustainably sourced to the best of their ability. Participating farms vary in size and specialty, but all carry the common thread of dedication to community, environment, health and education. By supporting these local farms you are actively helping your local farmer to do things like pay for their children’s college, instead of lining the pockets of large corporations. You’re also helping to protect our waterways, air quality, and soils by using local farms who care about sustainability, soil regeneration, and chemical free products. You’re also putting higher quality/healthier food into you and your families bodies. We hear all the time about rising health problems due to the amount of processed foods and chemicals found in our food and buying local from farms that care is a great start to decreasing those issues. And you are supporting our economy as our country begins to make the necessary shift to move towards buying from local growers so there is never a supply chain issue with food.

While not a true cooperative, Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market uses cooperative efforts to achieve steady and dependable means of supplying the highest quality produce and other products year round. Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market Pickup works to find new and innovative methods to preserve greenspace, protect our natural resources, support our local economy, provide meaningful work and return to a more self-sufficient community life.

Unlike other co-ops, buying clubs or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly online farmer’s market lists the produce, milled products, fresh flowers and artisan goods available that week and you can browse those items on this website before placing your order. Then you can come pick up your order from us on Thursdays.

We are just beginning our Signal Mountain journey and will be adding more and more farms each week. Please show grace as we learn and grow and come say HI!

Help us with our other venture! FOLKS AT HOME- Once we get this market going I will be starting a non-profit program to take a home cooked meal to folks at home who wish to remain in their home as they age. W want to help be part of changing the way we care for our elderly and this will be the first step towards that vision. By delivering home cooked meals this can help combat loneliness, make sure they are eating a good fresh meal, and is a good way for families to supplement check-ins on their loved ones. We will need volunteers for this to help make deliveries and make meals. People will be able to donate online to this program as well as the Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market Pickup through out website.

“From start to finish, Signal Mountain Farmer’s Market Pick up was pleasant and stress free. I love that I am getting chemical free, locally farmed, healthy food and supporting my local community. This is what buying food should look like. You are helping to pay for your local farmer’s child to go to college (for example) instead of giving your money to large corporations selling you over processed and unhealthy foods.”
